Tim Hamilton-Cox
Tim Hamilton-Cox has lived on the Ridge estate for 20 years and ran a successful business dealing with waste and recycling. He is chair of the management committee at Dallas Rd Boys’ and Girls’ Club. “At the club I’ve seen first-hand the impact of spending cuts on youth activities. The club has kept going because of the generosity of many local businesses and by developing other sources of income. Many organisations do not have these opportunities. But Greens try to be constructive and work with other parties; and only oppose where we must. I believe that I have the experience and ability to make a constructive difference.”
Ceri Mumford
Ceri Mumford is from Lancaster and lives in Albion St. She has a long history of community activism and of running community arts projects on a voluntary basis. She is currently voluntary co-ordinator of the “Made in Lancaster” project to support the development of the arts locally. She and Andrew attended the recent anti-cuts demonstration in London and does not accept that, “the majority should suffer the erosion of the welfare state so that the richest minority can keep their bonuses.” Ceri adds: “ My particular interests in the council are to promote healthy, happy neighbourhoods and sustainable development that serves the interests of local residents.”
County Cllr Sam Riches
Sam was elected as the County Councillor for the Electoral Division of Lancaster East in June 2009, but she has lived in Lancaster for six years.
